I will discuss some plans I have for mini-projects on campus when we go back.

Hey there, y'all!

I am going to show/demonstrate how to use p5js.org's web editor and repository as a place to create and maintain a suite of projects in the Processing JavaScript library, P5. This will be especially useful for those of you who are using your Chromebook. I even started to make a game.

There are two links below. One is to the p5js web editor. The other is to a website, The Coding Train, that I used awhile back when I made my first Twitter bot in Node.js. The guy who presents is cheesy and reminds me of myself the way he presents, although he's extremely more experienced in programming than I. But he has some good videos for p5js. You could literally just follow some tutorials and make any number of graphics/animations or a game or an app. I hope you enjoy it.

If you do want to make a game, then getting through the 'Object' and the 'Object Oriented Programming' sections in the Khan Academy modules for 'Intro to JS: Drawing & Animation' and 'Advanced JS: Games & Visualizations'. These are some of the best intro approaches to explaining OOP.

This new aspect of my curriculum I am trying to develop has everything to do with student feedback and suggestions I've gotten over the years from students. Presenting ways to incorporate visual arts and other cool applications of programming, that are intriguing to students, is how I'm trying to broaden my pathway at the top of our program. Not all of us can be enthralled with the mathematics all the time! =0)
