About Ms. Renteria

Ms. Renteria is an English 2, IB Language and Literature, and IB Core teacher who is dedicated to engaging and empowering her students. In addition to teaching, she is the ASB and Yearbook Advisor. Originally from California’s Central Valley, Ms. Renteria obtained her B.A in English and teaching credential from Pepperdine University. She joined the ACE team in 2014 and is passionate about promoting lifelong literacy. She is committed to designing authentic and relevant learning experiences for her students that challenge them to think critically and creatively. Ms. Renteria believes that students can be engaged, have fun, and learn without sacrificing rigor.  From mock trials to learning stations and escape rooms, Ms. Renteria combines classic and modern literature with engaging activities in order to promote student-centered learning. She was the recipient of the Camarillo Chamber of Commerce April 2019 Teacher of the Month. In her spare time, Ms. Renteria enjoys reading, hiking, photography, and watching movies.
